About Us
R.E.I.D ACADEMIA is a Kindergarten to 1st grade project-based homeschooling program for students with Autism. We focus on the Experiential Learning Model (Learn by Doing). We learn through projects as a vehicle to core learning.
Our experiential learning model enables learning through interactive, real-life, and real-time experiences. We create a safe and joyful space to foster and nourish curiosity, playfulness, and a love of learning.
We leverage the natural learning that takes place through play using Greenspan Floortime model coupled with project-based learningto create a developmentally appropriate rhythm (which we call the R.E.I.D. process). Having this rhythm assures that demands are not above or below their ability, reducing stress and anxiety levels. When the stress and anxiety decrease, the student is better able to learn and progress. Higher demands are placed on the student as they can manage them.
